We would like to thank our 2016-17 campaign sponsors!
 The Self Family Foundation
2016-17 United Way Campaign
We are excited to announce our new Campaign Co-Chairs, David Dougherty and David Elliott.

David Dougherty is Vice President and Commercial Relationship Manager with Countybank. A 45 year veteran of consumer and commercial banking in South Carolina, he joined Countybank in 2007. A graduate of Charleston Southern University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration, David and his family have lived in Greenwood since 1982. An active volunteer with the Greenwood Area Chamber of Commerce and Greenwood Area Habitat for Humanity, David has been involved with numerous non-profits the past 30 years including the United Way of Greenwood and Abbeville counties.

For the past 45 years I have supported the United Ways in South Carolina both with my financial resources and time. In 1971 I had the privilege of serving as a Loaned Executive for 6 weeks with the Midlands United Way in Columbia, SC. During this time I experienced first-hand the inner workings of a United Way organization. Funding programs within agencies that deliver measurable results has the greatest beneficial impact to the community it serves. Having Stakeholders in our Community coming together to make funding decisions insures that we are good stewards of our resources.

David Elliott is the Senior Human Resources Manager at Fujifilm Manufacturing USA Inc. in Greenwood, SC. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, along with a Master of Arts Degree in Industrial Education, with a concentration in Human Resource Development, from Clemson University. David has over 30 years of Human Resources experience, with the last 11 years at Fujifilm. Since moving to Greenwood in 1988, David has served on the boards of various non-profit agencies and is a past campaign chairperson for the United Way campaign in Greenwood.I believe in the United Way because it is the most efficient way to fund programs for those that are less fortunate. Gifts to United Way of Greenwood and Abbeville Counties will deliver results. Every program that receives funding from United Way must show measurable and lasting results. I support the United Way of Greenwood and Abbeville Counties because basically it is the right thing to do.

This year’s Campaign theme is “United Way Monopoly: United We Win!” The Campaign will kick off on August 30 and will run from September 1 until October 31. “We are very excited to have the “Dynamic David Duo”, David Elliott and David Dougherty leading our campaign this year. They both are strong advocates for United Way and for our community as a whole. And we know their support will energize our efforts as we go out to businesses and companies sharing about our agencies and initiatives,” states Denise Manley, United Way President and CEO.
